OIA UPNVY Hosts Stadium General on Technopreneurship and Competitive Strategy with Visiting Lecturer from UTeM Malaysia
Yogyakarta, June 10 2026 — Office of International Affairs (OIA) of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Yogyakarta hosted a Stadium General entitled “Technopreneurship: Innovation and Competitive Strategy” on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at the Seminar Room, 5th Floor of the Rectorate Building. The event featured Ass. Prof. Budi Suprapto, Ph.D., from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), Malaysia, as a visiting lecturer.
The seminar was organized as part of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta’s commitment to strengthening international academic collaboration and broadening students’ perspectives on the role of technology-driven innovation in today’s rapidly evolving business environment. Through this activity, participants were encouraged to understand how technological advancement can be leveraged to create sustainable business value and maintain competitiveness in the digital era.
The program commenced with an opening session by the Master of the Ceremony, followed by welcoming remarks from the Head of UPA Bahasa and International Affairs, Dr. Ir. Ekha Yogafanny, S.Si., M.Eng. In the remarks, the importance of international academic engagement and knowledge exchange was highlighted as a means to enhance students’ global outlook and entrepreneurial mindset.
During the main session, Assoc. Prof. Budi Suprapto delivered an insightful presentation on technopreneurship, emphasizing the growing significance of integrating modern technologies into business processes, product development, and strategic decision-making. He explained that innovation has become a critical factor for organizations seeking to remain competitive in increasingly dynamic and technology-oriented markets.
The speaker also discussed various competitive strategies that entrepreneurs and businesses can adopt to respond to market challenges, digital transformation, and changing consumer behavior. Through practical examples and contemporary case studies, participants gained a deeper understanding of how innovation and technology can drive business growth and long-term sustainability.
The seminar concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which students and academic staff actively engaged in discussion with the speaker. This Stadium General attracted students, lecturers, and university staff from various faculties who shared a common interest in entrepreneurship, technology, and business development.
