Admission To WIS Program

Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Yogyakarta (UPNVY) welcomes prospective international students to apply for the Wimaya International Scholarship (WIS), offering opportunities to pursue Master’s (S2) and Doctoral (S3) degree programs through two scholarship schemes: Full Scholarship and Partial Scholarship. Applicants for both schemes are required to meet the following requirements:

Admission Requirements

A. Full Wimaya International Scholarship Requirements

  1. Graduates of a Bachelor’s (S1) program for Master’s (S2) applicants. Graduates of a Master’s (S2) program for Doctoral (S3) applicants.
  2. Age Requirement
    1. Masters's and Doctoral programs: No age limit.
  3. Demonstrate English proficiency with one of the following certifications:
    1. IELTS: minimum 6.0
    2. TOEFL iBT: minimum 80
    3. TOEIC: minimum 693
    4. TOEFL CBT: minimum 213
    5. TOEFL PBT: minimum 500
    6. Duolingo: minimum 100
    7. English subject score in the report card: minimum 8 or equivalent to B
  4. All required documents must be translated into English.
  5. International students (non-Indonesian citizens) are eligible to apply for International Class programs (taught in English) or Regular Class programs (taught in Indonesian).
  6. Passport and Visa Considerations:
    1. Applicants with a refugee status stamp on their passport are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.
    2. Applicants from calling visa countries are welcome to apply; however, the visa application process may take longer and is subject to approval by the Indonesian immigration authorities. Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Yogyakarta (UPNVY) cannot guarantee or influence visa approval decisions.

B. Partial Wimaya International Scholarship Requirements

  1. Graduates of a Bachelor’s (S1) program for Master’s (S2) applicants. Graduates of a Master’s (S2) program for Doctoral (S3) applicants.
  2. Age Requirement

C. Required Documents for Upload

  1. Proof of application fee payment.
  2. Passport (valid for at least one year).
  3. Recent colored passport-sized photograph with a white background.
  4. For Master’s (S2) applicants: Bachelor’s (S1) transcript, 2 (two) recommendation letters from previous supervisors, brief research proposal.
  5. For Doctoral (S3) applicants: Master’s (S2) transcript, 2 (two) recommendation letters from previous supervisors, brief research proposal.
  6. Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  7. National ID Card (Passport or equivalent).
  8. English proficiency certificate.
  9. Scholarship/sponsorship documents (if applicable).
