Opening Ceremony - Youth Expedition Project (YEP) 2024

The opening ceremony of the Youth Expedition Project was held on September 29, 2024, on the 5th Floor of the Integrated Laboratory of UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta. This event was attended by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Associate Prof. Dr. Machya Astuti Dewi, Ms. Murray Ho (Representative of Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore), and representatives from the Gunungkidul Tourism Office.

 

In her welcoming speech and opening statement, Prof. Dr. Machya Astuti Dewi explained the implementation of the KKN program carried out by UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta. She stated that in this program, all participants would live with the society and engage in planning for the sustainable development of potential in the area where the activity takes place. She also expressed hope that this program would run smoothly, provide social skills benefits, and the best experience while living in Yogyakarta.

 

Mr. Murray Ho, the representative from Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore, mentioned that Yogyakarta is an exciting and memorable place for them. She expressed gratitude to UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta for preparing this project well and appreciated the students who had accompanied the Temasek Polytechnic group. Additionally, the Gunungkidul district government, represented by the Tourism Office, invited all participants to develop the potential in Gunungkidul, especially in the tourism sector.
